Jed-i Machine Learning Program
Starts February 9th, 2019
Jed-i Python for Machine Learning
Dates: TBD
OUR PROGRAMS
PYTHON FOR MACHINE LEARNING
Many people want to do machine learning but lack the required programming skills because they are too rusty or because they haven’t programmed in Python. This 6 week course is meant to correct this. It will give you a solid grounding in python and get you ready to take a machine learning course.
In this program, you will learn fundamentals of python, pandas and numpy required to do ML
Duration: 6 weeks
MACHINE LEARNING PROGRAM
This is a 12 week course that sets a solid foundation into the world of Machine Learning.
The course is a right mix of math and practice; we strongly believe over emphasising one over the other results in skewed view. We strive to find that balance so that you can confidently start using these skills in your work.
Duration: 12 weeks
There was once a time when you could get a good job knowing a programming language. Programming skill is increasingly seen on par with literacy and numeracy. Everyone in the future will have this skill and so is no longer a differentiator.
As companies evolve and become more sophisticated in their products and services, it is increasingly clear that Machine Learning (ML) is becoming a core skill. In a recent study, Emsi Job Posting Analytics, stated that machine learning job postings grew threefold from March 2014 to January 2016.

Why Jed-i?
At Jed-i, we believe that Machine Learning is touching and consuming every aspect of our life. ML is the process of extracting efficiencies from existing systems and uncovering patterns not known before.
As India enters a cashless society and readies itself for transformation, it is inevitable that all aspects of our lives will be touched by Machine Learning and Data Science.
“Machine learning is a core, transformative way by which we’re re-thinking about how we’re doing everything.”
~Sundar Pichai

Pedagogy
The course content is available over an online Learning Management
System (LMS). There is a concept note, examples, and exercises put up every
week.
There will be an online interactive session every week. All the mentors are available on a closed slack group for discussions.
Each week, we will give you qualitative feedback on your assignment.
And the last couple of weeks is devoted for a capstone project.

CAPSTONE
In our program, cohorts of participants get an understanding of the models, usually absent in other courses. They get a good intuition to the mathematics without the scary details. Above all, the hands-on component ensures much learning happens by building solutions to non-trivial problems. This experience is enough to allow them to explore machine learning on their own. They sail over the initial hurdles that they stumble upon in other courses.
All this is possible because the quality of our interaction is fundamentally different. We usually have three to four experts at the program so that you are ably mentored. You are never lost.
